Work at Home Stop and Smell the Roses! As a child, I remember watching my father get ready for work each morning. At some point before leaving, hed sit on his rocking chair and watch the sun come up and give heart felt thanks for his blessings. One morning as I was getting ready to go to my summer job, he turned to me and said, Linda, youve got to stop and smell the roses. He put a smile on my face and I thought he was remarkable, considering the environment he had come from. He came from the school of hard knocks, where children were considered hired hands and home life held very little warmth. He had learned early in life that the only way to get ahead was to work long and to work hard. Having learned his lessons well, as an adult, he never considered a work at home business. He had nine mouths to feed and never felt he had a choice. In having to work outside the home, not only did he trade time for money, he missed out on a lot of special moments with his children.
